Fall is just around the corner and Miami Lakes residents are eagerly awaiting the arrival of the Pumpkin Patch located at Miami Lakes United Methodist Church, 14800 N.W. 67 Avenue on the corner of Miami Lakes Drive and Ludlum Road. Kiwanis International and UNICEF joined forces on a five year project to raise $110 million to eliminate maternal and neo-natal tetanus in third world countries. The project was appropriately named the ELIMINATE project and for just a $1.80 donation, a child or mother is vaccinated against tetanus. To date over $100 million has been raised towards meeting the goal.
