Barbara Goleman Senior High School’s dance team, The Jewels, is hosting the last set of tryouts for the 2016-2017 season from July 12-14 at 8 to 11 a.m. The Jewels Dance Team is led by teacher Sara Yanes.

The Miami Lakes Quilters Club has once again assembled a number of colorful and patriotic quilts just in time for the Fourth of July to honor injured soldiers on their way home. This is the second year the club has made quilts for soldiers on drafty transport planes from Germany to the U.S. The quilts which range from a number of styles and colors give the soldiers a sense of home.The club, which has convened for over 10 years, sent out their...
The Miami Lakes Optimist Club recently concluded its Spring 2016 Flag Football season. Over 225 children participated in the league this season, receiving trophies at the league's closing ceremony event on Saturday, May 14, at Royal Oaks Park.
