The Town of Miami Lakes recognized the Zonta Club of Miami Lakes for its “Zonta Says No to Violence Against Women” campaign. At the December 1 regular meeting, the Town Council presented a proclamation to the group for its efforts to raise awareness of violence against women, preventing and combatting what is considered a hate crime against females.

  In partnership with PEAR and YMCA, the Town of Miami Lakes will be offering Winter Camp for two consecutive weeks beginning the week of December 21. Winter Camp with PEAR with take place at the newly opened Youth Center at Miami Lakes East Park, 6073 Miami Lakes Drive East, and the YMCA will host its Winter Camp at the Roberto Alonso Community Center, 16500 N.W. 87 Avenue.
