Our Lady of the Lakes (OLL) fifth grader Rafael De La Cova (right) and eighth grader Karina Sarandrea (left), were selected to represent the school at the 75th Annual Miami Herald Spelling Bee. Over 100 students from across Miami-Dade, Broward and Monroe counties were present. De La Cova placed among the top 25, making it past the first round. 
  Former longtime Miami Lakes resident, Jasmine Fernandez, received the highest honor a student can earn at Ringling College of Art & Design in Sarasota, FL.
