  Charles Sonny Metzcus, a longtime Miami Lakes resident who was a teacher and athletic trainer at Hialeah Miami Lakes High School for many years, died on March 14 following an illness. He was 82. Metzcus’ daughter, Monique Quenneville, said her father knew he was ill before he died. Metzcus and his wife of 47 years, Mary Rose, have been Miami Lakes residents since 1974.
