Town of Miami Lakes goes pink

The Town of Miami Lakes has gone pink during the month of October in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Each night, Town Hall is beautifully illuminated in pink and throughout the day, lobby lights are the shade of pink. Mayor Wayne Slaton, councilmembers and town staff wore pink to show their support at the October 14 Council meeting.

 

Town of Miami Lakes announced that it now offers open-play Pickleball for the public from 9 to 11 a.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays at Miami Lakes Optimist Park, 6411 N.W.. 162 Street. The program is free and open to all ages. Pickleball paddles and balls will be provided, or players may bring their own.   A domino tournament was a big hit for Miami Lakes residents on October 3 at Mary Collins Community Center as 16 teams participated in the event.   Miami Lakes Congregational Church hosted its first special needs worship service on Sunday, September 28, and will continue to offer the “Everyone’s Included” service on the 4th Sunday of each month at 4 p.m. The theme of the first service was “Love One Another” and featured a brief scripture reading, music and videos.
