  On November 7, Miami Lakes resident, retired Air Force Senior Airman and Coral Gables Firefighter, Carlos Martinez was honored by Congressman Mario Diaz-Balart. Martinez received a Congressional Commendation for his military service while serving as an Air Force Firefighter in Iraq.  Along with Martinez, three other servicemen were honored.
