Miami Lakes officials were presented a $1.3 million dollar check in state grants for canal bank and drainage improvements during the annual July 4th Concert and Fireworks show.   Despite an increase for the town’s biggest expenditure and other spending hikes to keep pace with the growing population and a slight demand for upgraded services, Miami Lakes tentatively kept the same rate for property taxes for 2014-2015.
