     Miami Lakes will hold a special election on April 9 to replace Vice Mayor Carlos O. Alvarez, who cited personal reasons for his resignation on Nov. 14.      The winner will fulfill Alvarez’s term and serve until Nov. 3, 2026.      The day after Alvarez resigned, Mayor Manny Cid nominated attorney Mariam D. 20th Annual Corey for St. Jude Golf Tournament raises money for child cancer research

     For the 20th year, The Graham Companies sponsored the Corey for St. Jude Golf Tournament at the Miami Lakes Golf Club.      The Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino was the title sponsor of the event on Oct. 30.      Contributions to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tenn. totaled $60,000 so far, with $10,400 more pledged to come from tournament...
