Mater Academy Science teacher Erica Martinez (center) was honored for her community involvement with Dream in Green by the Returned Peace Corps Volunteers of South Florida, and the Miami-Dade Teacher of the Year Coalition. Martinez was recognized for her dedication to the growth of her students academically and as engaged citizens by incorporating service learning into her curriculum.
