Stores hosted 17 candy stops; My Gym Miami Lakes held a freeze dance challenge; Acai Express put on a zombie race; Pizza Scene and Amazonia Nikkei held ring toss competitions and Sharkey’s Cuts for Kids staged a “mummy wrap” of a person who was covered in toilet paper. For parents, there were three raffles. My Gym’s prizes included free and discounted classes, a discounted birthday party and membership; Quest Martial Arts Academy gave away a free birthday party, free classes and a discounted membership; restaurants BB’s Bakehouse and Amazonia Nikkei contributed gift cards; CMX Movie Theater donated admission tickets; Sharkey’s Cuts for Kids gave away free haircuts; 37 Degrees North provided a gift card; Earthy Earth Gems donated discounts on jewelry; Main Street Playhouse gave theater tickets and Woof Gang Bakery & Grooming donated a canine goodie box, teeth brushing, a blueberry facial and a discount on purchases. Amanda Saltiel-Montilla, owner of My Gym Miami Lakes, said, “Our goal is to keep this running as a yearly event. It was a success, everybody was really getting into it. I think we had over 100 kids and the majority of the stores participated. You could go from one end of Main Street to the other for entertainment.”
