McDonald's hosts Coffee with a Cop in Miami Lakes

   Miami-Dade Police officers from the Miami Lakes District held a Coffee with a Cop event at the McDonald’s restaurant in the Cypress Village Shopping Center. 

   The gatherings allow residents to meet with local police officers while sharing coffee and snacks. Many of the people who attended the Feb. 28 event were children who spoke with patrolmen and detectives. Officers also greeted the public by working at the restaurant’s drive-thru windows. Town Manager Edward Pidermann and Public Safety Committee Chair Nancy Rogers stopped by, as did Mario Knapp, a retired law enforcement officer who is a candidate for Miami-Dade County Sheriff in November.  Also running for that job who was there that morning is Sgt. Rolando “Roly” Riera, Jr., who works out of the Miami Lakes District.
