Fla. Rep. Tom Fabricio, R-Miami Lakes brought a mock check to the Town of Miami Lakes to help fund two drainage projects.

Fabricio announced $1,170,000 to help with the improvements at the Sept. 10 council meeting. Fabricio said getting the money for the town was a team effort and that he had support from state Rep. Alex Rizo, R-Hialeah and Fla. Sen. Bryan Avila, R-Miami Springs.

“We all worked very hard to bring money back here to Miami Lakes,” Fabricio said. “$920,000 is for Loch Lomond drainage, and the reminder of the money is for West Lake Gardens water restoration.”

The two projects are part of the town’s ongoing improvements being made to drainage systems.

“These are your tax dollars coming back to protect your home and your community,” Fabricio said.
