Main Street Live! concerts resume

Community Friday, March 7, 2025

Main Street Live! returned to Miami Lakes with the kind of free street party that used to be held in the town’s center.

The “soulful rock ‘n roll” of the Brothers of Others band prompted children to dance in front of the old oak tree the night of Feb. 21.

“This was a wonderful opportunity to spend time with the family and support our local businesses, which are the cornerstone to our community,” said Carlos Andres, chair of the town’s Public Safety Committee. He brought his family and their dog.

More than 80 residents, some with beach chairs, enjoyed the concert and met friends during the event sponsored by the Main Street Merchants, The Graham Companies, the Miami Lakes Chamber of Commerce and the town’s  Cultural Affairs Committee and the Economic Development Committee.

“For being the first one, it went pretty good,” said Felicia Salazar, chair of the Cultural Affairs Committee. “We had very good compliments from people and the mayor (Josh Dieguez) and vice mayor (Bryan Morera).”

The next two-hour concert in the series will be held on March 21, when the Glass Blocs will perform new wave music from the 1980s at 7:30 p.m.

Bring your jackets with shoulder pads, rubber O-ring bracelets and wear big hair!

Parking is free. There are many dining options for all budgets in the neighborhood.
