The Town of Miami Lakes shared on social media some safety tips for residents.
--Miami-Dade County and private businesses have curfews for children. That includes Miami Lakes’ town center, which is private property owned by The Graham Companies.
Kids younger than 18 must be accompanied by an adult after 8 p.m. There can be penalties for trespassing at a business or on residential property.
--State law requires people who 16 years old and younger who ride bicycles, e-bikes, mopeds and scooters to wear a helmet.
--It’s swimming season year ‘round in South Florida. There are inexpensive lessons available at public pools around the county, including in Palm Springs North.
