American Legion Post 144 hosted a free family barbecue for veterans on July 4th at the pavilion
in Picnic Park West in Miami Lakes. Miami Lakes Vice Mayor Luis Collazo and his wife, Clarisell De Cardenas, public information officer for the Town of Miami Lakes, and their sons Lucas and Cody attended the gathering. Shown in the photo above at left is Tim Daubert, a former Miami Lakes vice mayor and councilman and former U.S. Marine who oversaw the grill, and at right, Angel Luis Vazquez, retired first class petty officer with the U.S. Coast Guard.
