Miami Lakes’ Youth Activities Task Force (YATF) are holding Barefoot Board Gaming, a free casual board game night, every other Friday of each month running from 6:30 to 10 p.m. at Mary Collins Community Center, 15151 N.W. 82 Avenue.
The next Barefoot Board Gaming event will be on Friday, October 24.
Barefoot Board Gaming is a friendly environment that encourages social interaction in a non-digital format between family and friends. This recurring event welcomes both the young and the young-at-heart. Children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Although it’s called Barefoot Board Gaming, shirts and shoes are required to participate.
Miami Lakes’ YATF’s goal is to bring residents together using board games to create a fun and whimsical atmosphere that encourages positive social exchanges.
The events will offer classic board game such as Parcheesi and Clue, as well as newer, European-style games such as Ticket to Ride and King of Tokyo.
The first 100 participants will receive a commemorative Meeple Board Game piece and a chance to participate in a raffle to win a board game. RSVP’s are not required for the event and registration is done on-site.
Barefoot Board Gaming will also be scheduled on Fridays, November 7 and 21, and December 5 and 19. For more information, email decardenasc@miamilakes-fl.gov, or call 305-364-6100.
