Chela’s Cocteleria has created more reasons to stay in town to party.
The Mexican restaurant’s goal: To offer high energy, culturally relevant experiences for Miami Lakers, says Marketing Director Vanessa Martinez.
Its target audiences are Generation X-ers (born after 1965) and millenials, born between 1981 to 1996, though women in their 40s are coming for the fun, too, Co-Owner Carlos Padilla said.
The ongoing Café y Perrero Sunday reggaeton brunch, served from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., has drawn diners for more than a year to enjoy DJ J Daiz and bottomless mimosas.
Launched March 11 is Girly Girls Night Out, every Wednesday from 8 p.m. to midnight.
Harry Styles, Hilary Duff, Taylor Swift and the Jonas Brothers are on the playlist.
Guests will be given prop microphones to sing along, as well as feather boas. Chela’s will sell pink cowgirl hats, which have become a collectible. Those wearing pink will get a free “Barbie” drink (like a Cosmo, served in a shot glass).
“It’s branded for women, but guys are welcome,” Martinez said of Wednesday nights.
Also designed for ladies: Jueves de Despecho (Thursday Night Heartbreak), from 8 p.m. to midnight.
“Ninety-nine percent of the music is in Spanish, lots of broken heart ballads,” Martinez said. “The girls like singing their hearts out.”
There is no cover charge for any of the themed events. Chela’s will also offer special drink menus and mocktails.
Chela’s Cocteleria is at 15301 NW 67th Ave. at Main Street in Miami Lakes. Reservations are suggested.
