Feb. 20 Mount Sinai Health Lecture. The Elderly Affairs Committee will host a Mount Sinai lecture by Dr. Joseph Barbera. The subject is Outpatient knee & hip replacement: When, Why & How? at Miami Lakes Town Hall, 6601 Main St. 11 a.m. – Noon. Free. 

Feb. 21 to March 9 “A New Newer Normal” at the Main Street Playhouse The Main Street Players present the comedy-farce “A New Newer Normal” by John Mabey and follows Ruth and Denny in the time after the COVID-19 Pandemic. Ruth is ready to enjoy life on a cruise while Denny has grown accustomed to sheltering in place. The pair and their family must decide what matters the most: Do they come together or split? Curtain is at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. on Sunday. Tickets: $30 for adults, $25 for seniors and students. Feb. 22 Miami Lakes Farmers Market The Florida Marketplace Group presents a Saturday market with vendors of produce, clothing and crafts. At Main Street and New Barn Road. 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. 

Feb. 22 Skate Miami Lakes Grab your skateboard, rollerblades, roller skates or scooter for Skate Miami Lakes, in conjunction with nonprofit organization SkateFree. Participants must bring their own equipment. Miami Lakes Youth Center, 6075 Miami Lakes Drive. Free. 10 a.m.

March 1 Inaugural Spartan Swine Showdown Monsignor Edward Pace High School’s competitive pig roast, to raise funds for campus improvements. Advance tickets are $20, day of $25. Four-person teams must register by Feb. 1. A $450 fee includes a 40-to-50-pound pig, reserved cooking spot and team T-shirts. There will be food, drinks, performances and family activities too.
