Gratigny ramps pack chambers; info expected in November

Residents of the Lake Patricia and Lake Katharine neighborhoods continue their fight against the proposed Gratigny Parkway ramps.

At the September 15 Town Council meeting, residents flooded the chambers and urged the council to not allow the project to move forward.

The project is being done by the Greater Miami Expressway Agency and has been strongly opposed by nearby residents due to the disruption they say it would cause.

While the town council has no authority on the project, they requested in August an updated traffic study for the area. Town Manager Edward Pidermann said that GMX should have updated numbers back to the council within the next 60 to 90 days.

The Town Council plans to have an update to residents at its November council meeting.
