Lakes resident Christopher Gilmartin graduates P. Thomas Police Academy

The Michael Gilmartin family, Miami Lakes residents since 1992, proudly announced the graduation of their son, Christopher, 22, from the Pat Thomas Police Academy in Tallahassee in June.

The young Gilmartin graduated  from Florida State University’s Honor’s College with a degree in Criminology cum laude in December 2013 after completing college in three and one-half years. He attended Archbishop Edward A. McCarthy High School and was captain of the school’s ice hockey team. He graduated from Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic School.

An avid hunter and angler, Gilmartin holds a certified IGFA world record.

He returned to Miami Lakes in late July to attend the University of Miami Law School where he received a Dean’s Merit Scholarship.
