The course, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., will give students the tools to handle the complex situations that driving in a crowded urban environment can present.

Open to drivers 16-21 years old with at least six months of driving experience, will include classroom training for vehicle dynamics, presenting distracted and impaired driving, and vehicle safety.

Students will also participate in a session on the campus’ driving range, and learn about close-quarters driving, braking, evasive maneuvering techniques, vehicle skid control, as well as road recovery.

All instructors are current or retired law enforcement officers certified by the State of Florida. Classes are limited to 20 students with a Florida-issue driver’s license. Cost is $150 per student and includes all materials and a vehicle to practice.
