Miami-Dade Public Library virtual programming

The library is offering virtual programming, with several courses sponsored by the Miami Lakes Education Advisory Board.
     Activities will be presented via Zoom. Space is limited and you must sign up in advance.  Registrants will receive a Zoom link via email 24 hours before a class begins. 

     If a class is full, call the branch at 305-822-6520 and ask to be put on a waiting list.

Healthy Body, Healthy Mind: Free Grab and Go Meals at the Library

Seven breakfasts and lunches provided by Sisters For

Abundant Living. Children 18 and younger can get free meals, available on a first come, first served basis until they run out.

STEM Saturday – Building a Neuron

Saturday, Feb. 6, 11 a.m. – Noon

Ever heard of the Nervous System? It sends signals (or messages) around the body! Join us online to learn more about it and get a chance to build your own neuron! All you need is 5 pipe cleaners of different colors. Made possible by FIU Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine, JWBMS and the Florida Blue Foundation. Ages 5 -15

REV+FLOW Functional Fitness

Tuesday, Feb. 9, 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

Strengthen your body and sculpt your muscles with the REV+FLOW fitness method! Work on developing strength and balance at home with low impact exercises during this six-week series suitable for all fitness levels. Led by a certified fitness instructor.

Write to Heal Workshop - Creatively Writing While Creatively Aging

Thursday, Feb. 11, 1 p.m. - 2:30 p.m.

Join Salaam Green, executive director of The Literary Healing Arts, for online workshops about the healing benefits of journaling, creative writing and expressive writing. You only need paper or a journal and a pen or pencil to participate. Ages 55+
