The legacy of volunteer Guido H. Inguanzo lives on in a mural dedicated to the culture and game he loved.
Before the town’s annual domino tournament on Oct. 12, the artwork created by Grisell Gajano was unveiled at Roberto Alonso Community Center.
The painting shows a man holding a white flower toward a child’s outstretched hand.
Its message in Spanish: Que siga la tradicion, or Follow tradition.
Painted dominoes frame the design that also includes red roses and vines with thorns.
After Inguanzo, 86, died on Dec. 3, his family raised a little over $4,500.
The money was paid to the town for the mural, as well as a sign and plaque at the center that is at 16500 NW 87th Ave., Miami Lakes Town Manager Edward Pidermann said.
