Members of the Miami Lakes Chamber of Commerce got an inside look at how surgeons at Baptist Health repair torn rotator cuffs, thanks to Dr. Frantz R. Lerebours.
Lerebours is an orthopedic surgeon, a specialist in reconstructing shoulders, shoulder and knee ligaments and rotator cuffs.
He is also one of the doctors for the Miami HEAT, Florida International University athletics and consults with Inter Miami FC.
He spoke before 60 chamber members on Sept. 11.
While presenting photos and videos of surgeries and patients, Lerebours described techniques and recovery plans that enable more movement and help patients live better lives.
Lerebours said such injuries are common and can occur during a fall.
The chamber is looking forward to the 24th Annual Networking Business Expo that will be held on Nov. 7 at the Miami Lakes Hotel on Main.
Companies will show off goods and services to the community, exhibitors will give away items and there will be drawings for prizes. Light fare will be served.
The chamber will meet for its monthly luncheon in October at the hotel, 6842 Main St. Networking begins at 11:30 a.m.
Guest speakers will include Miami-Dade County Sen. Commissioner René Garcia, R-District 13; former Miami-Dade County Mayor Alex Penelas and Fla. Rep. Alex Rizo, R-Hialeah, who will discuss the importance of voting.
