Miami Lakes Mayor Manny Cid earned an Associate degree in Political Science from Miami Dade College on Aug. 11. He plans to continue his education at St. Thomas University. Cid shared the photo above that shows him with his wife Melissa Cid and their sons, Manny, 13, on the left and Noah, 10, at right. Other notable graduates are Miami Lakes Deputy Town Manager Tony Lopez, shown at right, who earned a doctorate in Business Administration from Florida International University, and Miami-Dade Police Maj. Javier Ruiz, who received a Master of Arts degree in Disaster Management from FIU on Aug. 6. Ruiz, at right, leads the police agency’s district in the Town of Miami Lakes.
