A crowd of more than 150 people got to enjoy a Miami Lakes tradition - the annual Music for Americas Summer Strings Concert.
The annual concert is presented by the Cultural Affairs Committee and is held at the Miami Lakes United Methodist Church.
Under the direction of Lorenzo Turchi Floris, the orchestra played a selection of music including selections from Dvořák and Tchaikovsky.
The concert also includes Tuchi Flores’ original composition on piano, “Tiempo di Concerto”.
This year’s concert also included the QartettOrfeo from Rome playing
Saint-Saëns’ “Introduction et Rondo Capriccioso” for violin and orchestra.
QuartettOrfeo is a woman-led quartet that mixes classical and pop styles. In Italy the group frequently contributes to television and film scores. It has also played festivals including Livorno Music Festival, Stagione Borgiana of Nepi, Estate Romana of Rome and International Music Festival of Geneva.
Lorenzo Turchi-Floris is an Italian composer, conductor and pianist who is also the artistic director of Music for International.
