Fields at two parks closed for turf care

State champs Miami Lakes United in regional tourney

The Miami Lakes United Soccer Club’s U14 boys team recently won the Florida President’s Cup state championship and will play in Greenville, SC June 13 - 18 at the President’s Cup southern regional tournament.        The team, coached by Richy Pelaez, went 7-0 in the state cup and outscored its opponents 25-1. The team won their last five matches in the state cup event by shutout.    ...

Optimist baseball teams celebrate winning seasons

The Padres baseball team won the 8U Miami Lakes Optimist Division Championship. The kids won 21 games and lost just one game in the season, said team parent Clarisell De Cardenas, who is also the public information officer for the Town of Miami Lakes and supplied these photos.
