The Bob Graham Education Center’s Bobcat Jump Rope team is heading to the Lone Star State this summer to compete in the largest national multi-sport event for youths in the United States.
The group of girls qualified for the U.S. Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) 50th Junior Olympic Games in Houston, Texas, where they will compete in the jump rope competition.
The opening ceremony starts Wednesday, July 27, and the games end on Saturday, August 6.
The Bobcat Jump Rope team won the AAU Regional Qualifying Tournament to reach the Junior Olympic Games, putting on an amazing performance before spectators and their competition, winning 33 first place ribbons collectively, as well as numerous second through seventh place ribbons.
Participants will compete in 34 sports to promote and develop amateur sports and physical fitness programs, including jump rope, baseball, diving and swimming, track and field, basketball, beach volleyball, bowling, cheerleading, football, golf and gymnastics.
