Goleman and Pace football teams continue with winning seasons

In local high school football action, American picked up its third win of the season by beating Krop,19-13, in a District 13-8A game.

Krop (2-4) tied the game at 13 with four minutes left in the game. But Patriots quarterback Wanya Williams connected with Khalil Love for a 6-yard touchdown pass to win the game.
American (3-2, 3-0) kept its hopes alive to win a sixth consecutive district championship and will face Hialeah Miami Lakes at 7:30 p.m. at Milander Stadium.

After winning its first game of the season, Hialeah Miami Lakes (1-4) lost to Edison, 49-18, as the Red Raiders forced four fumbles and grabbed two interceptions.

Edison (5-1) has won five consecutive games this season.

Barbara Goleman fell to Ronald Reagan, 17-15, in a key District 16-7A game.

Victor Herrera kicked the game-winning field goal with 22 seconds left in the game. The Gators completed a two-point conversion to take a 15-14 lead with four minutes left on the clock. 

The Gators (4-2) face Mater Academy (4-1) at 7 p.m. on October 8 at Milander Park.

Hialeah Gardens (1-4) faces Varela (1-4) at 3:30 p.m. October 7 at the Gladiators’ home turf.
