After beating Miami Jackson to win the district championship for the third consecutive season, Barbara Goleman’s softball team fell to American Heritage, 15-0, in a regional 16-6A quarterfinal game that eliminated the Gators from the postseason. The Gators, who finished the season 20-10, were led by a group of star players, including pitcher and shortstop Natalie Costero, who was named Herff Jones Top Female Scholar Athlete for 2017. Costero, a Miami Herald All-Dade player, will attend Lynn University in the Fall.
