A summary of various local high school recent sports results:
In boys’ soccer, Ransom Everglades defeated Mater Lakes Academy, 2-1, in the District 15-2A quarterfinals. Ransom (13-5-4) avenged its regular season loss to Mater Lakes (9-8) in December. Ransom went on to defeat LaSalle in the semifinals.
Flanagan defeated American High in the District 14-5A semifinals and topped North Miami in the finals.
For District 16-4A quarterfinal action saw Terra versus Mater Academy; and Belen Jesuit versus Westland Hialeah.
In girl’s soccer, Ransom Everglades (14-4-2) defeated Mater Lakes Academy (10-6-1), 1-0, in two overtimes to advance to the District 15-2A semifinals.
Ransom defeated LaSalle, 4-1, in the finals to set up a championship showdown with Westminster Christian.
Mater Academy (12-3-2) defeated Central, 6-0, in a district game to end the regular season. Central finished the season 3-5-2.
