Horeb Christian School’s Dance Team has two successful competitions

The Horeb Christian School Golden Fillies, Gold, and Maroon teams had a magnificent start to the 2017 Dance competition season. The Golden Fillies, made up of middle and high school dancers, received Platinum and Elite High Gold awards in all their competitive dance numbers at Star Systems National Dance Competition held at Broward College.  

The Golden Fillies received first place in their division and third place overall. Jade Torres received first in her division and seventh place overall with an Elite High Gold score. Melanie and Megan Martinez received first place in their division and first place overall and a free ticket to Nationals in Orlando. Giselle Lopez scored Elite High Gold for her solo. Jasmin Castro received first place in her division and seventh place overall with a platinum score. All entries were invited to Star Systems National Competition July 4-8. 

In March the Golden Fillies, Gold, and Maroon teams competed in the Florida Cheer and Dance Competition (FCDA) held at Miami Norland Senior High School. The Maroon team, consisting of third through sixth grade dancers, won first place in their division. The Gold Team, consisting of fourth through sixth grade dancers won first place in their division. The Golden Fillies won second place in their division. Jade Torres, Giselle Lopez and Jasmin Castro won first place for their solos and Melanie and Megan Martinez won first place for their duet.
