Mater Academy’s Grrlettes Dance Team demonstrated an “excellence” performance during the 2017 Florida Cheer and Dance (FCDA) National Competition in Orlando.
Thousands of competitive cheerleaders, dancers, coaches and parents from Florida schools competed in the FCDA championship series.
Mater Academy’s Grrlettes qualified for the FCDA Nationals following a successful performance in the Florida State Championship.
In the FCDA Nationals, the dance and cheerleading groups won Oye first place platinum for middle school; Pachuco first place platinum for high school competition; Fame first place platinum for middle school competition; Lights second gold for high school competition; Departed first place platinum for middle school competition; and Armed Forces first place platinum national champions and second overall champions in dance competition.
