Mater Academy's Wind/Jazz ensemble wins honors at World Strides Festival

Mater Academy High’s Wind Ensemble and Jazz Ensemble recently competed at the World Strides Heritage Festival in Virginia and walked away with some top honors. The Wind Ensemble received a Silver rating and the Jazz Ensemble received a Gold rating. The group also received the Sweepstakes Award, Best Instrumental Group Award, and Adjudicator Award. One of the jazz ensemble members, Harry Garcia, was awarded the prestigious Maestro Award for his outstanding performance in jazz ensemble.
