Optimist Club concludes its 2016 Flag Football season

The Miami Lakes Optimist Club recently concluded its Fall 2016 Flag Football season. Over 255 youngsters participated in the league this season receiving trophies at the league's closing ceremony event on  December 17 at Royal Oaks Park.

The winning division champions included age 5-7 division Falcons, age 8-9 division Texans, age 10-11 division Chargers, and age 12-13 division  Panthers. 

The season was made possible in part by league sponsors including  Nation Claim Services, MiaCucina, A/V Home Solutions, MOP Auto Parts, Citi Financial, Nick Ariza Barbershop, Boulevard Towing, MIA Towing, American Engineering & Development Corp., Real Good Living Group, Mad Studios, Bachiller Iron Works, Pump Outs Unlimited, Dr. Phone Fix, Lifestyle International Realty, Unicity Auto Parts, Fade Barbershop, Maximus Transportation, H.A. Contracting Corp., ESP Explosive Sports, Oasis Marine, and Precision Tuning.

Most of these businesses are based in Miami Lakes and their sponsorship exemplifies a strong commitment to the community and the Town's youth sports programs. 

The Optimist Club of Miami Lakes Flag Football program is a youth flag football league for kids aged 5-13 with games on Saturday mornings at Royal Oaks Park in Miami Lakes. Practices are once or twice a week at night. At the conclusion of games every week, pictures are posted on the league's Facebook page at Facebook.com/MIAFlagFootball. Registration is $120 for new players and $100 for returning players.
