The Miami Lakes Optimist Club will be holding registration for its Summer basketball league on consecutive Saturdays, April 16, 23 and 30, at Miami Lakes Optimist Park.
The registrations starts at 9:30 a.m. and ends at noon.
Participants for girls, ages 7 to 12 and boys, ages 7-18, must bring a copy of their birth certificates and get fitted for their uniforms. Registration cost is $150.
The regular season starts at 6 p.m., Monday, June 13, and games will be played at Barbara Goleman and Hialeah Gardens high schools.
Oronde Tallifero, a college scout with a northern NBA team will conduct coaches training for volunteers who coach in the Summer program.
