Our Lady of the Lakes boys and girls sport teams off to great start

Boys and girls sports teams from Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church are enjoying successful starts to the fall season. The JV flag football team is currently 4-0. Most recently, the Cheetahs defeated St. Kevin 34-6 on November 14. 

At a prior game versus St. Brendan, the team demonstrated outstanding defense and an explosive offense that began with a 65-yard pass from Justin Quintana to running back Michael Sanchez, his first touchdown of the season, and a 33-7 win. 

On November 5, the flag team defeated St. Agnes Academy 6-0. Danny Delgado scored the winning touchdown (his fifth of the season) on a 24-yard run set up by a 30-yard pass from Quintana to Adrian Carballo. 

The JV boys soccer team, headed by coach Hector Pachas, is currently 2-0. Joseph Muniz, Justin Espinosa, and Daniel Luna have displayed great defense, and Justin Quintana very solid goalkeeping. Gabriel Pachas and Miguel Palacios lead the team in goals with three each so far this season. OLL’s varsity girls basketball team is currently 4-0. 

With great overall team defense and rebounding by Gabriella Perez-Robles, Olivia Duff and Kristen Fleitas, the Lady Cheetahs defeated Sts. Peter and Paul 20-10 on November 7. On November 4, the primary baseball team defeated the Sts. Peter and Paul Panthers, 9-1. Pitchers Ben Segall and Dylan Alfaro collectively struck out 11 Panthers. The team is now 2-1.
