Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic School’s Cheetahs sports teams are off to a strong start.
On September 9, the varsity girl’s volleyball team defeated Immaculate Conception in two straight sets, 25-16 and 25-18, starting the season at 1-0. The Lady Cheetahs had outstanding defense and Victoria Herrera, Kristen Fleitas and Maylizze Santos demonstrated some great serving.
On September 10, the JV boys basketball team defeated St. Agatha Catholic School 41-7. The Cheetahs started off slowly, but were still up after the first quarter 6-2. Between the 2nd and 3rd quarters. They pounced on defense and went on an 18-0 run not allowing St. Agatha to score until the end of the third quarter.
Nicholas Pombo came off the bench and lead the team with 11 points, and Michael Martely had 13 rebounds and 4 points.
