Thanksgiving is not complete without a little football and the 5th grade students at Palm Springs North Elementary will hit the gridiron in a classic game to commemorate the holiday of giving thanks.
The coed flag football game will pit the Red Team against the Blue Team in the 8th annual Turkey Bowl on Wednesday, November 27, at the school located at 17615 N.W. 82 Avenue.Kick-off starts at 9 a.m.
Teachers Kayto Rolle and Melissa Pinna will coach the Blue Team, matching wits with Richard Romero and Robin Goldstein of the Red Team, which leads the series.
A pep rally will be held the day before the game to stimulate group enthusiasm with rousing talks and cheers. The school’s Dazzlers Dancers will perform at half-time as well as other entertainment activities.
The PTA will sell food during the game.The winning team will receive a trophy, which will be displayed in the school’s trophy case.
