Monsignor Edward Pace High School’s JV and varsity baseball players traded their uniforms for dress shirts and fancy shoes at the 13th Annual Pace Baseball Banquet on February 7.
Held inside Pace’s Spartan Center, the Banquet was a formal Mardi-Gras-themed evening attended by Pace baseball players, their families, and friends to commemorate the start of the new baseball season.
Pace varsity baseball manager, Thomas Duffin, welcomed guests and recognized the families and individuals who have supported the school’s baseball program over its long storied history. After dinner and dancing, the JV and varsity teams were brought up and introduced on the Spartan Center stage by their respective managers and coaches, many of whom are Pace alumni and remember playing for the team themselves.
The evening concluded with a silent auction and raffle for sports memorabilia, jewelry, and other prizes with funds going towards the continued beatification and improvement of the school’s baseball facilities.
Thus far, the Spartan varsity baseball team is 2-0 in pre-season games and 1-1 in regular season away games.
