Monsignor Edward Pace High (PACE) boys’ baseball team is ranked the top private prep team in the nation, according to Street and Smith’s Baseball magazine.
The Spartans, who defeated perennial powerhouse Bolles School in Jacksonville for the 2018 state championship, returns much of its talent this season including what is likely the top junior class at one school in the country.
According to Street and Smith’s Baseball magazine, five Spartans have already committed to the University of Miami, including left-hand pitcher Yordani Carmona who returned as the senior leader for the team.
The Spartans are seeking to win their eighth state title in baseball this season under head coach Tom Duffin when PACE opens the regular season against Jesuit on Friday, March 1.
