St. Thomas University’s Raheem Bowman leads Bobcats in tourney win

Forward Raheem Bowman scored a career high 35 points and grabbed 15 rebounds, as St. Thomas University’s men basketball team edged Union College, 87-85, to finish undefeated in a tournament featuring teams from the Sun Conference and the Appalachian Athletic Conference in Barbourville, Kentucky. 

The Bobcats are 3-0.

Bowman, who shot 14-22 (63 percent) from the field, also recorded one assist, one blocked shot and one steal. 

Guard Kristers Zeidaks added 16 points, five rebounds and two assists, while Michael Walker II scored 15 points, had five steals, seven rebounds and two blocked shots to help St. Thomas University start the season undefeated. 

The Bobcats’ home opener was on November 8 against Talladega College, followed by a match up at Nova Southeastern University on  November 11, and at Webber International University on November 17.
