Pace Senior High School celebrated the success of three student athletes as wrestler Alexander Perez signed a Letter of Intent with Missouri Baptist University while basketball star Destiny Wilson and tennis star Josvany Lesende signed Letters of Intent with St. Thomas University at a ceremony held on April 27.

The trio signed their scholarships for their respective universities in front of their families, the Pace student body, and Pace administration.

Perez, who signed with Missouri Baptist University, won the 2016 1A 138lb State Wrestling Championship earlier this year, pinning all of his opponents at states in under two minutes combined.

Wilson, who signed a basketball scholarship with St. Thomas University, is a standout girls basketball and flag football player, helping both of her teams reach regional competitions several times during her years at Pace.

Lesende is one of Pace’s star tennis players and was named Honorable Mention in the 2015 All-Dade tennis team.
