Youth Center 'The Spot' has September activities for middle and high school kids

Miami Lakes Youth Center will be hosting several fun and exciting programs for middle and high school students at “The Spot” from 6 to 8 p.m. during September at 6075 Miami Lakes Drive.

Friday, September 14 - Cartoon Character Night. Dress as your favorite cartoon character, hangout with friends, and play various games throughout the night. Costume contest winner will receive a prize.

Saturday, September 15 – Community Service Field Trip (9 a.m. departure from Miami Lakes Optimist Clubhouse and returning around 2 p.m.). In partnership with Miami-Dade County, the trip is designed to clean up Pelican Harbor. Event includes a kayak tour to the bay island where volunteers will collect trash. Lunch will be provided following the kayak trip back. There is a $10 registration fee and space is limited as only 35 participants will be allowed.

Wednesday, September 19 - Open Hang. Middle and high school students are invited to Open Hang Night. The Youth Center is equipped with a billiards table, table tennis, indoor basketball shootout game, Xbox One, and more. Bring friends and hang out for a night full of fun and games.

Friday, September 28 – Minute 2 Win It Night. Various 60 second games offered for competition with multiple prize categories. Bring friends, compete and hang out.
