Longtime resident Daniel Borges owns and operates his business as an independent Certified Public Accountant (CPA) within Miami Lakes. The decision to open a corporate office in the Lakes area came easily, as Borges has lived in the area since he was 13. It was that same year when he met his now-wife, Miami Lakes Educational Center teacher Neyda Borges, at a bus stop in the 8th grade.
He attended Barbara Goleman Senior High School while she attended Hialeah Miami Lakes Senior High School, but they were inseparable through life’s many changes. Together since 1997, the two wed in 2004 around the time Daniel earned his bachelor’s in Business Administration from Florida International University. He began working at a construction company and knew he wanted to continue climbing the ladder there, but saw a ceiling if he didn’t pursue a graduate degree so he earned his master’s in Accounting from St. Thomas University and a CPA license.
After years working for the construction company Daniel decided to branch out on his own and work closer to home. He opened his own CPA firm last fall and has a number of clients he works with in areas such as bookkeeping, tax preparation, IRS audit defense and more. Clients run the gamut from dental offices to lawyers to used auto dealerships.
Daniel splits his time between his business and his newborn son, a balancing act, but one he finds satisfying.
