HGMS girls soccer team finishes second in district finals

After being undefeated in their regular season, Hialeah Gardens Middle School (HGMS) girls soccer team made it to the quarterfinals. 

On October 15, they played at Amelia Earhart Park and defeated Miami Springs Middle 1- 0, advancing to the semi-final game.  Later that day, they played against Highland Oaks Middle School in an intense and competitive game. 

The game ended in a 1-1 tie and HGMS won in penalty kicks. Advancing to the district final game was a milestone for the team, being a "first" in the school's history. On November 4, the team played against Carver Middle School at the University of Miami. 

They ended the season second place in the district. Next year, HGMS girls soccer team will strive once again to become district champions.
