BankUnited hires health care banking leader

     BankUnited, N.A. announced on Sept. 13 that it hired Brian Morris to lead its health care banking team. 

     As a senior vice president, Morris will be based at BankUnited’s corporate headquarters, at 14817 Oak Lane in Miami Lakes

     Morris has 30 years’ experience in banking and will lead BankUnited’s financing deals with private equity and corporate clients in the health care industry throughout the United States, the bank said. 

     Previously Morris served as senior managing director with Capital One Bank in Atlanta. 

     He earned a master’s degree in Business Administration from Emory University in Atlanta, and his undergraduate degree from The George Washington University in Washington, D.C., the bank said.

     BankUnited, N.A. is a national bank which provides a full range of services to individual and corporate customers through 65 locations in Florida and four in the New York metropolitan area, and said it also provides commercial lending and deposit products. 

     BankUnited, Inc., the holding company for BankUnited N.A., is listed on the New York Stock Exchange and in July, reported total assets of $35.7 billion as of June 30th.
