Thanks to the United Way and TD Bank, members of the wider Miami small business community got a tour of Miami Lakes businesses.

The professionals got on a bus to check out Miami Lakes and the Amelia District in Hialeah during their recent visit. After starting at TD Bank, they visited three Miami Lakes restaurants. Mayor Josh Dieguez joined them to help kick off the tour at TD Bank before the bus set off.

On their visit, they not only got to try Miami Lakes restaurants like Chela’s Miami and the Garrison Taproom, but also got a look at the town.

“As we were walking around, we took pictures in front of [Town] hall, again giving people exposure [to] the neighborhood,” said Gladys Reed, chief philanthropy officer for United Way.

It helped introduce business owners who may not know the area or haven’t been to town in a long time. Outings like this allow business owners to network with each other and donors, Reed said.

Along with learning about the town, the group also got to help support the local businesses in one of the most fun ways possible - by eating and drinking at them.

“Then we gave everyone time to walk around Miami Lakes,” Reed said.
