The Miami Lakes Chamber of Commerce hosted the 22nd Annual Business Expo at the Miami Lakes Hotel on Main on Nov. 3.
Sixty businesses presented their services in the hotel’s Grand Slam ballroom to about 600 spectators, said Fred Senra, president of the chamber.
Exhibitors included local restaurants; insurance agents; banks; gyms and estheticians, mortgage companies; health care providers; colleges; Realtors and service organizations.
Attendees sang karaoke, won raffle prizes and enjoyed a performance by students from the Our of Lady of the Lakes Glee Club.
Chinitas Beauty and Eyebrow Spa provided facials and other services while The Spot Barbershop gave free haircuts.
WSVN-Ch. 7 Meteorologist Vivian Gonzalez was mistress of ceremonies.
Business owners enjoyed being able to spend time with potential customers.
Providing samples of their fruit-filled treats were Cristina and Dayanna Sanguily, owners of Açaí Express, which opened on Main Street this year.
It was their first time at the expo.
“[It’s] very exciting,” Cristina Sanguily said. “We had no idea what we were coming into, and it’s been an abundant amount of people.”
Said Patricia Gonzalez, president of Hemisphere Title Company, “This is phenomenal. I love the energy that is in here. It’s about the same [as pre pandemic crowds]. I think we’re getting there.”
